It definitely has possibilities but some caveats. You would need a firewall protected version of ChatGPT. I believe Mayo has one and is working on it. Would be great to see how it handles BIG DATA to investigate associations related to disease/outcome. Also to look at care pathways for ways to increase efficiency and DECREASE error.
What would you define as an 'unacceptable' principle diagnosis? Is the list large? While I am unsure on filtering the diagnosis codes while ordering, it may be possible to use an EKM rule to do a synchronous check of the provider entered diagnosis code to ensure that it is acceptable.
What would happen, if the diagnosis code is not considered an 'acceptable' one then a window will display and notify the provider that a different diagnosis code needs to be entered in order to Read more...place the order. It would prevent the order from being placed with that diagnosis code.
I have never set this specific scenario up myself but have with radiology order entry selection for the reason for exam. Show less...
