"It's Time for HIT to Rethink Automation"

Healthcare IT departments would benefit greatly if they began utilizing a subset of the same tools Cerner uses internally for software development. Automated testing and process automation will help HIT shops realize the elusive “magic tripod” of faster, better and cheaper by reducing some of the drudge work that their analysts perform while also reducing testing bias. This session will present a quick overview of the economies that Cerner has realized through their use of Eggplant software. In addition, iMethods will present some case studies from current healthcare systems that are using Eggplant for the automation of regression testing and the resolution of common problems via process automation.
Dave serves as the Manager of QA & Process Improvement for iMethods. He is passionate about testing EMRs and ancillary systems in order to preserve patient safety and revenue integrity. Because Dave knows that health care systems have to “test smarter, not harder,” he is a champion for automated testing, robotic process automation, and AI. He manages extending iMethods services around Eggplant to health care clients.
Prior to coming to iMethods, Dave was the Testing Coordinator at UNC Health Care, in charge of all testing around their Epic implementation. Before that, Dave served as a Resolute PB analyst, Grand Central Analyst, and a variety of other roles since he brought his first Epic practice live in 2001. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and served six years in the US Army in Military Intelligence prior to beginning his career in IT.
